GENERAL RULES

  3. Points are awarded to the car, not the driver, heat lineup will be determined by points, all new cars will start at the rear.
  4. NO SPEEDING IN THE PITS, spinning tires or reckless driving, there will be a $50 fine per occurrence.
  5. All cars must pass safety inspection before racing at Elk City’s I-40 Speedway (hereinafter called Speedway).
  6. Drivers will be required to wear a full face helmet at all time while practicing or in competition. It is recommended that helmets meet the specifications set forth in the Federal Motor Vehicle Safety Standard Regulations or meet the specifications set forth by the American National Standards Institute Inc. All drivers must wear a neck brace.

 

  1. All drivers must wear approved full fire suits, gloves, (no nylon or polyester). It is highly recommended that drivers use a Snell SFA 3.2A/5 uniform with full Nomex underwear.

 

  1. All cars must have approved racing seat securely mounted and seat belts and shoulder harness. Belts must be quick release type, 3 inch in width.

 

  1. All batteries must be securely mounted and in a covered container or a divider separating it from the drivers compartment.

 

  1. All cars must have a roll cage as designated in your class rules.

 

  1. All cars must have numbering for easy scoring.

 

  1. A 2 1./2LB dry chemical fire extinguisher is mandatory in every vehicle within easy reach of the driver.

 

  1. All driveshafts must be painted white with a safety loop on the front half of the driveshaft.

 

  1. All added weights to car must be securely attached to car.

 

  1. All cars must be able to start under their own power.

 

  1. All cars must have a cut-off switch or master disconnect within easy reach of driver.

 

  1. No mirrors allowed.

 

  1. No radios or communication devices allowed.

 

  1. Please check your own car regularly and look for unsafe conditions on your feloow drivers cars. Safety is very important to all of us.

 

  1. Every driver must inspect the racing surface and the track area to learn of any defects, obstructions, or anything which in the drivers opinion is unsafe and the driver shall report that condition to the track promoter or track officials at the Speedway. Any driver entering any racing event is considered to have inspected the track and determined that all conditions are satisfactory. If the driver does not think the conditions are safe then they should not race. The driver fully acknowledges that the driver is aware that auto racing involves risk and that by competing in an event the driver assumes these risks with full awareness and knowledge.

 

  1. The driver is responsible for the actions of his/her pit crew in all respects. The driver will be the sole spokesperson for his/her car owner and pit crew in any and all matters and must talk with the track promoter or track official in charge regarding their conduct or behavior.

 

  1. Any participant directly involved with any fighting or misconduct at the Speedway event, on the racetrack, in the pits, or on the track premises at any time will be subject to 2 weeks suspension with no pay or points and could possibly be barred from the premises for the rest of the season.Fighting,p physical assault, rough driving, or any driver using his or her car in a malicious manner may be fined $200 and 25 points a weeks for 2 weeks and second time will be 2 week suspension, third time will be suspension for the rest of the season.

 

  1. No participant shall subject any track official, track employee, or sponsor to any abusive or improper language at any time. Any driver who gets out of his/her race car, or any participant who assaults or threatens any track official, track employee, or sponsor may be suspended and fined up to $500.00 before they may return and shall forfeit all Speedway points. They may also be barred from the Speedway for the remainder of the year.

 

  1. All Speedway participants are independent contractors and are not the agent or employees of the Speedway. Speedway participants, as independent contractors are solely responsible for preparing their race cars to perform at the Speedway racing events in accordance with Speedway rules, regulations and procedures. As independent contractors, Speedway participants are solely responsible for compensating their employees, agents, or pit crew members. Speedway participants, as independent contractors, also assumes full responsibility for reporting or filing any reports or tax returns with the appropriate authorities in any and all earnings and funds received as a result of their participation in Speedway racing events, including but not limited to, Federal Social Security Taxes, Federal Income Taxes, State Income Taxes, Federal and State Withholding Taxes, Unemployment Taxes and Workers Compensation Insurance.

 

  1. All drivers under the age of 18 must have both parents or legal guardians sign a driver release for to race at the Speedway.

 

  1. Reserved pit parking will be available for $50.00 per year. You must furnish your own car number sign or racing team sign in front of your parking spot. All drivers are responsible for cleaning up their own parking spot.

 

  1. Protest procedures: You must be a driver in the class you are protesting, the protest money and description of protest must be made in writing and presented to the track inspector within 15 minutes of your race.

 

  1. You may race your car in only (1) class per race night.

Clutch & Flywheel Assembly          $100.00

Complete Head, Valve Train, Cam and attaching parts   $200.00

Complete Engine      $300.00

Complete Car          $500.00

 

¼ of the money goes to the track—1/4 of money to the inspector—1/2 of money goes to protested or protestor, whoever the inspector finds to be correct.

 

  1. There will be a $35.00 registration fee per year for every driver entered in a Speedway event.
